Looking through some old sketchbooks a little while ago I found a couple more pages of those tiny line-drawing landscapes I like to do in odd moments. The pages of the sketchbook are 5″ x 3″ so that gives you the size of these little guys.
I don’t know when I made them – the notebook was a hodgepodge of dates. Oh well, doesn’t matter.
Maybe some day we will travel there and see these places in person, locations that so far only exist in imagination.
I made these mail art postcards by gessoing scrap cardboard cut to postcard size and then painting with acrylics. Made in February, 2019.

…but if you want to go, there is no plane or train or road to them. They came from my imagination and they exist only on the boards I painted them on, and in your mind, now. So come along with me and take a look.
I like painting long views and I like to think about hiking or walking or swimming in the scenes I have painted, once I arrive there, of course…
I hope to set foot on another planet some day. I am not sure how that will come about, but I think it would be with a sense of awe and wonder at the infinite experiences possible in our universe.
More prosaically, I hope it would be possible to pick up some rocks and bring them home. When I was young I did that (on earth, not another planet!) and had a collection. I still do it now and then, if I see something interesting. I think rocks from another world would qualify as interesting, certainly.
