Sketches of Home

Remember my TV-time drawing habit? I sit on the sofa and draw while the television thinks it has my attention.

I pulled out my sketchbook one night in April 2020 and did these small pictures of scenes in my home, from photos. Here are the photos:

Here is the (8″ x 8″) page. I was working with a drawing pen, very fine nib, I believe.

Field Hockey

I live across the street from our local high school. There are some playing fields right in front of our house. I often go over and watch the sports. One day I sketched a lot of little figures from a field hockey game.

Some time later I cut them out and put them on artist trading cards.

Seemed like a good time to post them because it’s field hockey season again…

I did these tiles from photos taken in Philadelphia, PA, at various times. The scenes are more or less faithful to the original, as I saw fit!

Who Am I, and Who are You?

Yes, you may ask that question, and what answer will you hear?

Clay tiles.  The first one is 4″ x 4″, Velvet underglaze on commercially made terracotta, January, 2018. The second one is the same, except for the tile is handmade terracotta, @ 3″ x 7″.

 

Person and Cat

Person and cat times two, but always the same story. Cat knows, person wonders.
