C is for Claudia and for Chair: One

In March/April 2022, I took an online sketching class at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in Reading, PA. I was looking for an opportunity to get myself back into drawing. My eye problems of summer and fall 2021 into early 2022 had shaken my confidence in my ability to see well enough to do pen and ink drawing, and I thought a regular schedule of sketching would be good to start me moving again.

The class was a lot of fun, the instructor was great, and my goal was met – I did a lot of drawing and I enjoyed myself. I’ll show you what I worked on in a series of posts.

Thanks to my instructor, Zoungy Kligge, and my classmates for a good experience.

In our first class, we talked over various drawing topics and ways to set yourself going into a sketch practice. We discussed the idea of drawing items from everyday life. Our instructor gave us an assignment for the following week to sketch items beginning with the initial letter of our first names. I was given the topic of Chairs.

Well, that was great. I love drawing furniture! I did a LOT of chair pictures. In fact, I almost couldn’t stop. Here are a few, and I’ll show more later on.

Yes, this was a lot of fun and I could not stop collecting chair photos (most of these I did from a photo since I could not always stay and draw, where the chair was) and doing just one more…just one more…
