A while back I had an idea (don’t know from where) to choose a couple of photos at random and see if I could combine them into an image. I have been doing these paintings in a large sketchbook (mixed media paper) – it’s 18″ x 24″.
I did this painting in my studio as part of an online class I was taking in late fall, 2021. Here are the photos I used for references. The building is in Glenside, PA; the trees are along the Perkiomen Creek near Collegeville, PA: and the pastries are from Whole Foods in Jenkintown, PA.

And here is the painting. It is called “In Our Neighborhood” and it is 18″ x 24″. Done in December 2021.
This would be a great submission to the Travel from home show!
I am inspired by what you say. I have been trying to focus on participating as much as possible and saw the event but could not get my head into yet. I think you may have fixed this for me! Thank you.
That is yummy, just yummy, it seems like the best word for this merged image!
Thank you. I like how this turned out. I think maybe because I like all the images on their own, too!
I love the idea of a neighbourhood populated by gigantic pastries.
Oh yes. A dream world all right. I have thought in another life (I need about 50 more incarnations to try all the things out that I would like to do) I would like to be a baker of pastries and so on like these. Tasty and beautiful.
