A while back I had an idea (don’t know from where) to choose a couple of photos at random and see if I could combine them into an image. I have been doing these paintings in a large sketchbook (mixed media paper) – it’s 18″ x 24″.
Here is the next one. These are the photos I used – a view through the window into an empty storefront, and a pot of flowers in my front yard.
Here is the painting. It is called Storefront and Pot of Flowers. June 2021.
Excellent idea another for me to do. Thank you.
Oh it is so colourful! I love it!
Thank you!
I think you are going to chuckle when I tell you what my absolutely instantaneous thought was upon seeing your painting: Little Shop of Horrors.
Well, I like the idea, and I think you are right, theme wise and also the idea of the poor little shop now out of business – horrors!
Another brilliant merged image!
Thank you!
I think that I like the idea behind all of these as much as I like the paintings. Really impressed with the projects you come up with. XO
Thank you. The key is picking photos at random. Not trying to match things together. Sometimes there is a sinking feeling at what comes up as the choices to work with. But I always find the process very absorbing no matter what the art comes out to be.
Oh a very successful outcome. The colourful energy. Fabulous.
Thank you. It is always a tossup what will hepen with two or more unrelated photos as my starting point, but also very freeing. I like that.
