How about this store window scene? I like the bright yellow dress, an outfit putting its best foot forward, and then it can’t get out the door – no one has taken the trash away yet.

And in the second photo, I loved the reflections. A nice bit of yellow in this picture all right.

I really like the photo with the reflections in it. The reflections add to the yellow glow of the image. Yellow is such a cheering colour but I absolutely cannot wear it as it makes me look sallow.
I love yellow. I am not sure how I look in it, I have never thought of it, but I like having it around because it is…warm! happy! enveloping and enfolding!
I love the yellow too, plus the composition as a whole. The trash is an excellent counterpoint to what the whole window display is about. Very pleasing — I know I’ll look at this more than once today.
Thank you. At first I didn’t notice the trash bags – I was focused on the window and taking the reflections photos. Then I looked at the whole thing. Sometimes the juxtapositions of life are something you just shake your head at, that they happen the way they do, and inadvertantly bring so many ideas to the surface in your mind.
I see a sketch coming….great composition you found!
Love the photo! Can’t wait to see the sketch. I once bought a yellow dress and I looked like Sesame Street’s Big Bird. Yellow is not my color.🤪
Yellow seems to be a hard color to wear, but it’s almost irresistible because it is so happy, bright, and warming, I think!
It says happy. (K)
Yes, I feel there should be a short story called The Yellow Dress and the plot involves happiness of some sort associated with the dress. That is kind of what this window made me feel.
Yellow does tend to be a happy color, and I like to see it, even if few of us look good wearing it (me included!). There was a short story titled “The Yellow Wallpaper,” by Charlotte Gilman(?), that appeared in anthologies. Very interesting but disturbing human story. I think I remember it because it woke me up in a way to the many different associations that people experience with color over time.
p.s. True to prediction, I’ve looked at and enjoyed today’s photos at least 4 times, Claudia!
Thank you. And I know the story you mean. Yellow is not always happy. Which reminds me that every color has connotations, but, they are not always fixed. I like thinking about that, somehow.
I hope there is a happy story for the person who buys it.
It was a thrift shop, so, even better, the dress maybe already has had some nice experiences, with more to come. That is what I am hoping.
Ah, a thrift shop! I love them, which explains why I was drawn to every single thing in your photo.
This one is in an upscale area and the owner clearly has an eye for fashion that is not the usual thing, plus other quirky items. I enjoy looking in these windows.
Yes! even better.
Wondering how long it is before such scenes are not there anymore.
