…is the name of today’s story on Fictive Dream.
Throughout the month of February 2021 I will be showing you illustrations I did for Flash Fiction February 2021 at Fictive Dream, an online short-story magazine. For more information about FFF21 and my artwork process, look here.
Here’s the image editor Laura Black chose for this story, Come On, Shake Salt Shakers, Baby, Compost Conga, by Sheree Shatsky.
And here is the artwork with the banner. Take a look at this image. And then…
Read the story at Fictive Dream.
A surreal story about a talking compost heap is a first for Fictive Dream and the illustration is absolutely spot on. I see it as the crazy compost making a hasty retreat from the salt shaking narrator. I love its fluidity and movement and the outdoor palette is perfect. Thank you, Claudia.
Thank you, I also think this is a great fit. To me there is a whole bounce to this story that the picture fits in with. Loved it. And I think you made a perfect choice here.
Thank you, Claudia! 😍
You are so welcome. This is one great story.
I love the combination of that lime green and the turquoise blue.
I think there are very few combos I like better than this one you mention. Add some orange and black and I am smiling.
