These little guys (6″ x 6″) have been waiting for their chance to shine. They were painted in September 2020 in acrylics on masonite.
I keep forgetting about them. I think? I apologize if I have shown them before and forgotten that, too. So, without further ado, here they are.
Happy New Year – I am always interested to see your art. We gave copies of our large print Christmas book to libraries and other places over the holidays. I thought of your sharing of art. Thank you.
Thank you. What a great thing to do. Books are the ultimate gift and it’s great that yours will be shared by lots of people. Happy New Year.
These are intriguing to look at and I’m glad you gave them their chance to shine!
Thank you. I like this 6″ x 6″ size and I still have a stack of blank ones ready for when I am ready…
These are great! I love the teeth on the creature in the last piece and I am most drawn to that one and the one with the toothsome character on the right of the composition. He looks a bit skeletal to me, which you know is something I like, but I also like that use of perspective with the figure on the right and the massive hand on the left as if he is reaching out of his hiding place to yell stop at an intruder.
Once I put the shapes on the board, the painting as it will be composed usually jumps out at me. Also influenced by whatever I am doing at the time, too. This group was interesting to me. Seemed to have some aggression in it.
I love the turquoise and orange in the piece “Back Off”. Your color palettes are always wonderful and thoughtful!
Thank you. You know, I do think my early fabric art experience taught me a lot. The colors were there for me to work with (as opposed to putting paint on a blank canvas) and I could mix and match and look them over. I think it trained my eye. On the other hand, I have always like a lot of color, even before I got into art – maybe my crazy eyesight helped there, I didn’t see much detail, always, but color, yes!
My favorite is the bird always knows
Great colors as always. (K)
I went through all my paints, and filled in some gaps in colors, so I have new ones, plus old favorites. Somehow that really gave some kick to painting, recently.
I love color.
You are a talented artist, Claudia!
Thank you. I’ve been doing it a long time and am living proof that practice really does help, I think!
You surely have developed the knack!
I love your colour sense Claudia!…
Thank you!
Oh I am loving the green at the moment. I see you painted them in September, but they have the colours and energy and a feeling of the coming spring.
Thank you. I really like green and especially this area/shade of the green world. I paint straight from the tube and so I have several tubes in this range. If you like something, then really like it! I say.
Yes, I know that sentiment entirely.
PS, I hear the voice of a gardener in your comment, too, and it is so you. Happy Spring to come!
Yes, I am really wishing I had planted a handful of snowdrops in a pot.
