These tiles depict the sort-of-bunny you might see sort of anywhere, if you sort of look hard and maybe sort of cross your eyes.
Just saying.
Tiles done in low-fire clay, fired at cone 06, colored with Velvet underglazes, approximately 4″ x 4″, January, 2019.
I live in the Conejo (rabbit) Valley, we have thousands of bunnies. I’ll be on the look out for this version.
OMG, that is perfect. We do not have that many rabbits here, as they get eaten pretty quickly by the hawks, foxes, and even coyotes (as a local park ranger told me).
There are always bunnies on my lawn in the morning. We have hawks coyote as well, so I’m sure they are having a feast.
Yes. I see rabbits in the spring, then…they don’t show up anymore. I heard foxes barking last night…
Well you know I have a thing for quirky bunnies so I absolutely love these!
Thank you. I had this post already lined up for today of course not knowing about your zombie bunnies, but when it came up, I thought, timing couldn’t be better. I think these guys are distant cousins of your bunnies.
I actually doodle bunnies all of the time, They crop up on post-it notes around the house and at the bottom of shopping lists. My husband actually reminded me the other day that I used to draw wee bunnies on phone message notes I left for the other residents when we were in student accommodation as 18 year olds so I have a loooooooong history of doodling bunnies.
I think there’s a something interesting about how you’ve chosen (or been chosen) by bunnies as your alter ego of expression.
Indeed. I think zombie bunnies might be my spirit animal.
Well, I think you have just defined something important. Unusual, a little, maybe, but on the other hand, you are unusual, and I mean that in the best way, the kind that implies rarity and high value. Just saying. I’m torn between cat and bird and tree for mine. Hmmm. PS yes, I realize a tree is not an animal, but after a couple of books I’ve read recently, they are pretty sentient, if you ask me.
I completely associate you with trees – and not just because you paint them a lot either. It’s that you are so tuned into nature’s cycles and then there is the idea of being rooted while stretching and growing and sending out new exploratory shoots. Maybe you are a tree with a bird in its branches and a cat curled up in its roots.
I think this is the nicest picture of myself that anyone has ever described. You’ve made my day. I love it. Thank you, and I’m smiling.
Love the first one especially!
Thank you. These bunnies are a little odd but friendly and even if they are my own work they make me laugh.
