Acrylics, 14″ x 11″ on masonite, February, 2019.
I have the feeling this tree stands along the road near the ocean and it’s a chilly day, not quite raining. You need your nice thick sweater to feel comfortable as you walk, and thank goodness you brought enough money to stop at the cafe and get some hot chocolate. You pick up your steps and hurry on, leaving the tree, perfectly content, in its place.
There’s the story I thought of, anyway.
The piece is brilliant and I also I love the name of it. The name immediately evokes a strong image for me, before evening seeing the piece!
Thank you. It reminds me of a trip to California I made some years back – it was in the fall and misty and rainy, and there were trees like this sort of hanging over the ocean. I’ve never forgotten it.
Every once in awhile that constant need to be prepared for any contingency pays off. (K)
Yes. Because when the need strikes, there it is, and if not met, an opportunity may be missed that would have connected to it. That’s my theory. Plus, I like to know I can get a snack if I want one, anytime…
The visual texture in this piece is wonderful.
Thank you. I had a more subdued painting going, got aggravated by it and that gave me the push to be a little more free. I do like how this one came out.
The trees see so many travelers…all with different stories.
